Wanting Everything All at Once – and Learning to Breathe

You don’t need to have it all at once to live fully—you just need to see the beauty in the step you’re in. – Unknown.

Let’s be honest: sometimes we want everything. Now. The success, the relationship, the dream home, the thriving business, the balanced body, the freedom, the peace, the beach life and the big-city buzz. We want the money to feel secure, the community that feels like family, the time to relax, and the spark to stay motivated. All at once. All right away.

And when we look around and see others seemingly living our dreams, it can feel like life is playing a joke on us. We wonder if we’re doing something wrong. If we’ll ever get there. If we’re even capable. But let us stop right here and take a breath.

Because here’s the thing: wanting everything is not the problem. The problem is thinking we’re failing just because we don’t have it all at once.

It’s Okay to Want More

You are allowed to dream. To want deeply, vividly, and unapologetically. That desire is part of your aliveness. It’s a sign you still believe in something more. But here’s the truth with a wink: most of us don’t get the “whole package” delivered in one go, like a giant Amazon order. And if we did, we’d probably be too overwhelmed to even open it.

So what if we softened the grip a little? What if we laughed kindly at that voice that shouts, “Why don’t you have it all yet?” and whispered back, “Because I’m building it, step by step, flower by flower.”

Feelings Are Visitors, Not Roommates

When the impatience creeps in, when loneliness and tiredness amplify everything, it helps to remember: feelings are intense, yes, but they are also fleeting. They demand our attention, they knock loudly—but they are not the truth of who we are. You are not your restlessness. You are not your doubt. You are not broken just because it feels hard today.

So give yourself permission to feel what you feel, without letting it run the show. Take a breath. Take a walk. Move your body. Return to your grounding rituals. Meditation, movement, quiet, or connection—whatever helps you hold space for the storm without letting it sweep you away.

Progress is Not a Race (Even If It Feels Like One)

One of the greatest illusions is the belief that everyone else is moving faster. Truth is, life is not a race track. It’s a path full of wildflowers, crooked fences, and unexpected benches to rest on. And every flower along the way deserves your attention. Not just the big, blooming goal at the end.

So let’s learn to walk, not sprint. To notice, not rush. To be okay with not having it all yet – and to even find joy in that. Because this right here, the messy middle, the wanting and waiting and wondering, is where most of life happens.

And maybe, just maybe, that’s the most beautiful part of it all.

You can want everything. You can feel impatient. And you can still trust the timing of your own unfolding. You are not behind. You’re becoming. 🌸

Believing in You!
