“A healthy person has a thousand wishes, a sick person just one.” – Anonymous

Strolling through the park on a sunny afternoon, I sip from my bottle filled with tea. As I walk, my mind drifts between visions of the future and memories of the past. The choices ahead of me feel so significant, and the experiences I’ve lived through seem to carry so much weight. Every decision feels important as I navigate through life’s crossroads. So importrant.
It’s something we all experience – identifying with the thoughts in our heads, which in turn shape our reality. At times, we feel stuck, caught in a constant cycle of restlessness. We yearn for success and progress, but we often don’t understand why we feel so blocked. With countless options to improve—coaches, YouTube videos, and TED Talks promising self-growth—it’s easy to get overwhelmed. In our quest for improvement, we sometimes overlook the simple, yet powerful things right in front of us or within us. One of the most important gifts we naturally have is our health. We are healthy in many ways, enabling us to experience the world, think, move, play, sing, and form meaningful relationships with our friends, family, and partners. We have the ability to breathe deeply and embrace life.
You only realize the value of something, when it is about to be taken away from you.
When you feel stuck and find yourself not progressing as you’d like, take a moment to remind yourself of the simple pleasures and small things that surround you. Embracing these moments can help shift your mindset and bring clarity as you continue your journey toward personal growth and success.
You are allowed to feel frustrated and annoyed, but don’t let these emotions take away your everyday joy. While there are countless helpful tools out there, sometimes it’s about doing less. Less of the things that drain your energy and leave you feeling exhausted. By reducing your to-do list and decluttering your mind, you allow space for clarity and peace. Our minds need a reset from time to time, and they will thank you for taking a breather. The small things can have a big impact on your well-being.
In my top list of self-declutter tools, I’ll share how you can reset and refresh. We are all meant to grow and evolve, but it’s also okay to take a break from constant improvement. Take a moment to breathe—whether it’s by the ocean, in the forest, or wherever you can escape the noise and demands of daily life.
Screens and the constant stream of information telling you how you should be or what others are doing can be energy-draining. Taking just an hour to meditate, relax, or go for a walk can help clear your mind and restore balance. We can improve, change, and grow endlessly, but none of it is worth the stress if it harms your health.
Ask yourself why you want to change and what you want to change. Are you driven by fear or curiosity? Is it love or punishment? Is it joy or frustration? All feelings are valid and can guide you toward your goals. However, the key is to maintain your health while striving for personal growth. Your body keeps the score, and you are the one fueling your mind, body, and soul to experience amazing, beautiful, and exciting years on this holy, moly, guacamoly earth.
